SESSION TOPIC: VETERINARY ADVICE FOR LIFE. ALL THINGS PUPPIES, KITTENS AND NEUTERING

Royal Canin are hosting a virtual event to discuss a holistic approach to puppy and kitten health, covering off key topics such as:

  • The key elements of perfect puppy and kitten consultations

  • The importance of nutrition in growth and general health, from in utero, through to their transition onto an adult diet

  • Neutering, including discussion around optimal timing of the procedure, and low stress handling of paedatric patients in hospital

  • Behaviour, including key socialisation periods, management of common puppy and kitten concerns, and knowing when to refer to a behaviourist.

Dr. Mina Hamilton
Dr Mina Hamilton graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2011 and spent four years in small animal practice in Melbourne. In that time, Dr Mina completed her Masters in Veterinary Studies through Murdoch University, and then joined Royal Canin nearly 7 years ago. Mina has a passion for nutrition and the genuine impact it can make to a pet's day to day health, as well as its important role nutrition plays in helping to manage health conditions in pets.

Dr. Xavier Schneider
Xavier graduated as a veterinarian from the University of Queensland and began his veterinary career working in mixed practice in Northern Australia focusing on Equine and Bovine Reproduction. On returning to Brisbane, he completed a rotating internship in Equine surgery, medicine and reproduction at The University of Queensland Equine Specialist Hospital. Xavier is currently undertaking a residency program in Theriogenology (Animal Reproduction) with the American College of Theriogenologists at Queensland Veterinary Specialists and The University of Queensland's School of Veterinary Science. Xavier has a clinical interest in canine, equine and bovine reproduction.

Dr. Jess Beer
Jess qualified from Massey University with BVSc in 2002. She then travelled to the UK to work in small animal practice for almost 10-years before returning home to Auckland. Since gaining her MANZCVS in 2014, she has shared her time between general practice and private referral practice for behaviour problems. Dr. Jess is passionate about preventing behaviour problems with appropriate advice on training and environmental management.
