Cases of refractory and recurrent otitis externa in dogs are common and the management of these can be challenging for the veterinarian. This presentation will discuss the general approach to chronic otitis externa and review the underlying causes. Additionally, we will examine the role that biofilms play in refractory otitis externa and review treatment tips and tricks to optimise therapeutic success. We look forward to you joining us!
Dr Fiona Scholz is a double-boarded Veterinary Dermatologist. She is a Perth native and graduated from Murdoch University in 2011. Fiona completed an internship in Oncology & Internal Medicine at Perth Veterinary Specialists, and, then followed-on working as a primary-care veterinarian in Perth. In 2014, Fiona started not just one but two Dermatology residency programs and spent her time over the next 3 years training and seeing cases between Animal Dermatology Clinics in Southern California and Perth. Throughout that time Fiona also obtained Memberships in Small Animal Medicine. Fiona is Dermatology Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists and is also a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatologists. Fiona works for Animal Dermatology Clinic and takes cases at both Perth Veterinary Specialists and Murdoch University.
